myself and probably many students will find it difficult to attend when we have prior arrangements. is there any intention to record (audio or visual) the talks? if not can i suggest that you discuss to do so?
thanks
Can we change the awful font? The 2 looks like a 4, on this page and others. Other numbers look silly/puzzling too. A plain font like Arial would be fine…
(looks like they did it)
Great to see so much going on and holding events after six or at weekends might help to allow alumni currently working to contribute more. I work full time but I’d use the opportunity to get involved.
Keep up the good work everyone!
WASS’s Occupy Patriarchy is Tuesday!!!
Hi,
if there’s time, I would like to give a talk called “From ACT UP through the WTO to Occupy: Activist Lineages” – based on my five years in ACT UP/NY, a direct action group on the AIDS crisis. The talk will be some reflections on the similarities (and shared personnel) and differences in activist models between ACT UP and Occupy.
The thing is that my teaching schedule is tight. Is there any chance of doing in late Monday afternoon, or at 5:15 on Tuesday? (Probably Tuesday is better, actually). Email me if you can.
Hi Stephen,
You’re on the schedule! Thanks for your support

Protest going great! Good work everyone.
Just a suggestion, I believe that we need to be more active in getting the attention of the student body. The reason we should do this is because some students have recently said that they are still a bit unsure of the cause(s) for the occupation. One way we could attract more attention, which has worked really well in the past, is to arrange for the lovely-looking blond girl to strip again. I believe that when people see her walking around in her pink knickers and bra, it will really get people interested in our cause (whatever that is!?!?!?!).
A couple of responses to your suggestion, written here in a personal capacity.
1) Grow up.
2) Don’t be a sexist arsehole.
Im with Ruth on both points.
Did you not think maybe WRITING A BIG POSTER would be a more pro-active way of ‘getting the attention’ of the student body.
Learn some respect.
I’m serious! I thought It worked really well for the other action you guys did… I don’t remember what it was against…. but I guess that’s not important. The important thing is that you guys are taking an active interest and making a difference to peoples opinions. I think you make a big impression on that group of visiting school girls who watch the strip show. Keep up the good work.
Prof. Rai Shirin (Politics Department) – The Performance Of Protest wants to talk on Monday at 6.30pm OR at 11am on Tuesday. Please confirm and provide preference. Many thanks!, Marin
I’ve put Professor Shirin down for 11am on Tuesday – is that okay?

lovely! Thanks Ruth!
Shirin has emailed me to ask if it would be possible to reschedule her talk from Tuesday to Monday morning/ afternoon. Could you please confirm if this is possible? I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Marin: would 1pm Monday be okay?
Ruth: I sent her an email, as soon as she has replied I will leave a reply here
she just confirmed to speak at 1pm on Monday
